尊敬的 张箫峪（笑宇）教授：

关于我参加在哈尔滨举行的第三届世界华商大会的事宜，对于您所作的努力我表示诚挚的感谢。丁主席（国际经济贸易协会主席）和其他领导同志热情地招待了我。丁主席能在时间紧张的情况下为我安排演讲，使我有机会在企业责任方面同来自中国和全世界的代表交换意见，是联合国和我的荣幸。

之后，在活动中，我会见了张左已省长和王利民副省长并同他们进行了简短的会谈。

从与会者的反应看，我所传达的信息是与参会者休戚相关的，是有价值的。当然，这些也是世界经济发展宣言大会、中国国际跨国公司研究会和联合国全球契约所要传达的信息，它反映了您和王茂林会长的想法，这对于在建设和谐社会中，在政府领导下的社会各阶层互助合作中，企业发挥独特而关键的作用，是挑战，也是支持。

有那么多来自中国、香港、欧洲以及美国的老朋友来哈尔滨参加此次大会，能见到他们真是令人愉快。在此，我对潘喜安主席的友好协助表示真诚的感谢，同时感谢中国国际贸易促进会的徐先生对我的演讲所作的精湛翻译，感谢侯艳芳女士为整个安排所作的努力。

张箫峪（笑宇）教授，我很遗憾没能在哈尔滨见到您，但是对于您所作的一切我表示诚挚谢意。我期待与您再次相见，并为下次世界经济发展宣言大会的召开和新组织的成立携手合作。

Dear Prof Zhang Xiaoyu，

Please accept my great thanks for all you have done to make my participation in the 3rd World Summit of Chinese Entrepreneur Organizations in Harbin. I was very warmly received by the Chairman Mr. Ting ( Mr. Ding) Kein (Chairman of the International Economic & Trade Association and all the leaders. He honoured the United Nations and myself by granting in a heavy schedule a place of great honour to share some ideas with the delegates from China and around the world on Corporate Responsibility.

Later, within the event, I was able to meet and have a short discussion with Governor Zhang Zuoji and Vice Governor Wang Limin.

From the feedback, it seems that the message was considered pertinent, relevant and of value for all the participants. Of course, it is a message that is shared by the  WEDDC, The CIIMC and the United Nations GC, one that very much reflects your thinking and that of your President, Mr. Wang Maolin. It is a message that challenges and supports business in playing its unique and vital role in working with all sectors of society under the leadership of government in the development of a harmonious society.

It was wonderful to meet so many old friends, from China, Hong Kong, Europe and the Americas who came to Harbin for this important conference. I would like to express special thanks to Mr. Pan Xi An, the president of Century Inform (International) who was so kind and helpful. I would also like to say thank you to Mr Samuel Xu of the CCPIT who made my presentation understandable through his excellent translation and of course to Ms Fancy Hou who helped so much with all the arrangements.

Prof. Zhang Xiaoyu, I was indeed sorry that it was not possible for us to meet in Harbin but I would like to express my sincere appreciation for all that you have done. I am looking forward to seeing you soon again and to working with you on the development of the next WEDDC and the new organization.
