The profit of CNPC drop to 39% in the first half year-over 80,000 will be laid off

According to the news of “China Oil News”, General Manager of the group, Jiang Jieming said, as the current whole staff of the company increasing rapidly and the reality of the workforce’s cost growing fast, they plan to  reduce the staff gross by 5% in the next three years at the leader’s meeting of CNPC in 2008 which is recently held in Yan’an. According to the statistics issued on its official net, the staff amount of CNPC is 1.673 million in 2007 and the reduction amount will be 80 thousand based on that.

These people believe that such staff reduction of 5% would not affect the domestic stability of CNPC. Because the reduction is included several aspects: one is the natural way to reduce by retirement; the second is to control the new enrolment; the third is to fire those with contact expiration; the fourth is to reduce personnel through the merger of a number of positions.
