Notice of Inviting Chinese Companies to Attend Mexico Investment Forum
Relevant companies:
Mexico Investment Forum, to be sponsored by Mexico Foreign Trade Bank entrusted by Mexico government, will be held in Mexico on Sep. 25th, 2006.
Ministry of Economy of Mexico, Ministry of Finance of Mexico, Foreign Trade Bank and principals in other departments will give an introduction to the general economic situation and investment environment of Mexico. Mexico government will arrange schedules for the entrepreneurs who will attend the forum, including visiting industrial garden of Mexico, and negotiating with local investment and trade partners who have potentials. Industries involved in the forum are: food processing industry, seafood industry, automobile and parts of automobile industry, electronic and appliance industry, textile and clothes industry, tourism, metal and machinery industry, software industry, and mining industry.
Mexico is the world’s second largest developing country absorbing direct foreign investment, the eighth largest export country, as well as the main export country in Latin-American areas. Economies of China and Mexico have great complementarities. China (just below America) is the second largest trade partner, the second largest import source country and the tenth largest export market of Mexico.
In 2005, the main products that Mexico exported to China were: machinery, copper and copper products, organic chemical products, iron and steel and mineral ores. Export quantities of jewelry, aluminum and its products, leather bags, non-knitting clothes, aquatic products, base metal products are small, however, they increase quickly. Electronic and machinery remain the main products imported by Mexico from China. Exportation of other products, such as iron and steel products, iron and steel, photograph and film products, rubber and its products, only accounts for a small fraction, but their increase rate all surpass 50%. Parts of device and equipment of cordless phones, radar, etc, printing electrical circuit, cordless phones, telegram, transmission device of radio broadcasting and television, camera also increase rapidly.

For the companies getting permission to attend the forum, Mexico government will be responsible for one person’s expenses of the whole journey.
