Executive Vice President Zhang Xiaoyu meets
Senior Advisor of Global Compact Executive Office
of the Secretary-General of UN, Mr.Frederick C. Dubee
In
the afternoon of June 1st, 2006, Mr. Zhang Xiaoyu, Executive
Vice President & Secretary-General of CIIMC met with Mr. Frederick Dubee,
Senior Advisor of Global Compact Executive Office of the
Secretary-General of the United Nations.
Executive Vice President Zhang
Xiaoyu introduced the aims and functions of CIIMC, as well as the World
Economic Development Declaration Conference to Mr. Dubee. Mr. Frederick
C. Dubee gave a brief introduction to the history and functions of
Global Compact Executive Office, and he extended high appreciation to
the business of CIIMC.
Mr. Dubee held the view that CIIMC’s wishes tally pretty well with the relevant ideas of Annam, Secretary-General of the United Nations and the principles of Global Compact. The two parties also exchanged ideas friendly in regard to the cooperation issues which are of common interest of the two parties, such as promoting economic technology exchange between Chinese and foreign enterprises, establishing a center of Global Compact of the United Nations in China, especially setting information passages of Global Compact.
Global
Compact Executive Office is one of the host organizations of the 2nd
World Economic Development Declaration Conference which is being under
preparation of CIIMC. For the successful holding of the meeting, both
parties will make every endeavor to promote the relevant business.
Mr. Yu Pengcheng, Advisor of Secretary-General, and principals in Administration Office and International Cooperation Department attended the meeting. In the evening, Executive Vice President Zhang Xiaoyu held a banquet in honor of Mr. Frederick C. Dubee.
