President Mr. Wang Maolin Accompanies the Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme in China to Make a Review Visit to Henan Province

 

 

April 17th, News from CIIMC:    Mr. Wang Maolin, President of CIIMC and Mr. Zhang Xiuxue, Vice President of CIIMC, accompanied Mr. Khalid Malik, UN Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative in China, reviewed and visited Henan Province from April 11th to 13th.

During their stay in Henan, Mr. Xu Guangchun, Party Secretary of Henan Province and Mr. Li Chengyu, Governor of Henan Province, etc, respectively met with Mr. Khalid Malik, President Wang Maolin and the delegation. They introduced the basic situation of Henan’s economic and social development to the visiting guests, and gave sufficient affirmation and high praise to CIIMC’s efforts and support to build a communication bridge for the promotion of the cooperation between both parties as well as Henan’s economic development. The delegation of Mr. Khalid Malik and President Wang Maolin visited some medical products manufacturers, such as Henan Tuoren Group and Yu’an Group, etc. Mr. Khalid Malik and President Wang Maolin extended high appreciation to the achievements of Henan’s economic and social development during the recent years.

The delegation also paid a visit to the Wenlou Village of Shangcai County of Zhumadian City (the famous AIDS Village) and the medical staff working there as well as the AIDS patients and some orphans whose parents died of AIDS. Mr. Khalid Malik and President Wang Maolin gave sufficient affirmation to the numerous efforts made by the Henan Government and leaders at all levels of Zhumadian City in the aspects of curing AIDS and prevention work.

 

Media Promotion Fair of the UN Millennium Development Goals.

 

During their stay in Henan, the delegation of Mr. Khalid Malik and President Wang Maolin also attended the 4th China Henan International Investment Trade Fair. They communicated with leaders from Henan Provincial Health Bureau, Henan Provincial Office of Poverty Alleviation and Development and Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Henan Province, and fully exchanged ideas. Both parties hoped to further strengthen the cooperation between UN’s organizations in China and Henan Province through the visit of Mr. Khalid Malik and his delegation.
