-----CIIMC Shakes Hands with U.S. Business Delegation
At 15:00pm on the afternoon of November 8th, 2004, the U.S. Business Delegation headed by Mr. Malcolm Smith, Senator of New York State of America, was received by Mr. Wang Maolin, Vice Chairman of the Law Committee of NPC and President of CIIMC, and Mr. Chen Yaoxian, Vice Chairman of Economic Affairs Committee of CPPCC and Chief Vice President of CIIMC in the Great Hall of the People. About 17:00 pm, the delegation visited CIIMC and had a deeper communication with Mr. Zhang Xiaoyu, Executive Vice President and Secretary General of CIIMC. In the evening, Mr. Zhou Keren, Vice Chairman of Foreign Affairs Committee of CPPCC and Vice President of CIIMC held a banquet in honor of the delegation.
During the meeting, Mr. Malcolm Smith, Senator of New York State, had a pleasant talk with President Wang Maolin and Vice President Chen Yaoxian on the issue of cross-border economic development which is of common concern of both sides. President Wang Maolin stressed that China hoped that not only more foreign multinational corporations come to develop in China, but also Chinese enterprises should actively respond to the national development strategy of ‘going global’. Vice President Chan Yaoxian made specific elaboration of the status of Chinese state-owned and private-owned enterprises in the capital market.
Members of the delegation successively introduced the basic situation of their companies in the Meeting Room of CIIMC, expressing their aspiration to seek for partners in China. Mr. Fred Teeter is President of U.S. TEETER Market Service Co., Ltd., and he controls the family enterprise for over 30 years. The enterprise’s metal cutoff machine accounts for 20% of the market share of the orders of Boeing Company. One aim for his visit to China this time is to seek for agents and the other aim is to find a manufacturing enterprise to produce his products; Ms. Squadell is President of U.S. Goal Communication Company. Her undertaking is involved in publishing industry, so she wants to seek for partners in printing and publishing fields; Dr. Rubinstein has a metal electroplating company, and he hopes to open the sales market in China and gets a manufacturing enterprise as partner to be responsible for producing his company’s inferior products; Ms. Wu Xing is the current President of U.S.C&D International Trade Co., Ltd. which mainly specializes in trade of marine products. The company presently is in a stage of rapid development, so she wants to seek for suppliers in China…… Mr. Wang Huazhang, President of Asian American Business Development Center who promoted the meeting between both sides, Mr. Zhang Xiaoyu and some members of CIIMC attended the evening banquet hosted by Mr. Zhou Keren, Vice President of CIIMC. Following the banquet, strategic partnership agreement was signed, which is a good beginning for the Cooperation and communication between both sides.
Purposes of the visit of the Delegation:
→Promote products and service of New York State to enter into the Chinese market;
→Help small and medium-sized enterprises to seek for and enlarge their development in the Chinese market by using limited resources;
→Provide more business opportunities and enable American businessmen to know how to manage their products in the Chinese market;
→Provide face-to-face superior platform for more buyers and agents to contact and develop;
→Assist Chinese enterprises to develop in the American market, and coordinate with the policy of the Chinese government of ‘going global’ for enterprises;
→Explore business cooperation between New York State and Chinese enterprises.
