The Foreign Cities and Industrial Zones Awarded ‘Best Foreign Cities/ Industrial Zones for Investment by Chinese Enterprises’ Actively Publicize the News
The ‘International CEO Roundtable of Chinese and Foreign Multinational Corporations’, co-sponsored by China International Institute of Multinational Corporations, United Nations Development Programme(UNDP), United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and United Nations Global Compact Office, was successfully held from Nov. 17-18, 2007 in Beijing. Over 700 guests from 38 countries including CEOs from more than 20 multinational corporations attended this conference.
One of the highlights of the conference is the Grand Awards Ceremony, in which Best Chinese Cities /Industrial Zones for Investment by Multinational Corporations, Best Foreign Cities/Industrial Zones for Investment by Chinese Enterprises and Chinese Enterprises/Multinational Corporations with Utmost Core Competitiveness were awarded.
25 foreign cities and industrial zones such as Bern, Switzerland and The Hague, Netherlands were granted the laurels of ‘Best Foreign Cities/Industrial Zones for Investment by Chinese Enterprises’. Over 10 mayors of the foreign cities headed their delegations in person to attend this conference and receive the awards. The delegates from these cities and industrial zones showed their excitement by receiving the awards. Over 10 cities and industrial zones held press conferences right away and broadcasted the news immediately to their home countries.
The Mayor of Bern, Switzerland, headed a delegation in person, attended the Roundtable and delivered a speech to introduce the investment environment in Bern. The biggest newspaper STADT®ION BERN reported the news of Bern winning the award on December 4th, 2007.
Three delegates from Manisa Chamber of Commerce and Industry Organized Industrial Zones, Turkey, attended the conference and received the award. They gathered all main local media and held a press conference immediately after they returned home. The news was soon broadcasted nationwide.
Although the Roundtable ended successfully, further promotion activities for the awarded Chinese and foreign cities, industrial zones and companies have just started. We will make joint efforts with the awarded units to facilitate sustainable economic development.
