The International CEO Roundtable of Chinese and Foreign Multinational Corporations Will Be Held in Beijing

 

The 'International CEO Roundtable of Chinese and Foreign Multinational Corporations’, approved by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, sponsored by China International Institute of Multinational Corporations and chaired by Mr. Cheng Siwei, Vice-Chairman, Standing Committee, National People’s Congress, will be held in Beijing from 16 to 18 November, 2007. The co-sponsors of the Roundtable are the Organizing Committee of the World Economic Development Declaration, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the United Nations Global Compact Office and other international organizations. The supporting units of the Roundtable are foreign embassies in China, foreign chambers of commerce in China and well-known media from China and abroad.

 

The delegates and guests to be invited will include CEOs of 100 companies from Fortune 500 companies in China, 20 global CEOs, CEOs of 100 companies among Top 500 Chinese companies, 37 Chinese mayors, 35 foreign mayors, 30 directors of Chinese industrial development zones and 10 directors of foreign industrial development zones and 10 Chinese and foreign bank presidents. State leaders will be invited to deliver keynote speeches. Also, leaders from the Ministry of Construction, the State Environmental Protection Administration, All China Federation of Trade Unions, officials of the United Nations as well as leaders from the State Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Commerce, the People’s Bank of China, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, China Banking Regulatory Commission and China Securities Regulatory Commission will participate in the event and make speeches.

 

The Roundtable will be based on the theme of ‘Equality, Credibility, Cooperation, and Win-win’, and the main topic of ‘Sustainable Development of Multinational Corporations and Chinese Economy’. The topics that multinational corporations are concerned with will be reviewed and discussed by ways of speeches, interactive communication, general meetings and parallel meetings. According to the requests from Chinese and foreign participating enterprises and relevant organizations, the Roundtable may also include the signing of strategic cooperation agreements.
