Fruitful Business Review Visit to Europe in 2006

‘The Business Delegation to Europe in 2006’, organized by the Membership Department and International Cooperation Department and participated by some of our member companies, came back to Beijing on 15^th December, 2006 smoothly after finishing the exchanges with relevant institutes and enterprises in France, Holland and the United Kingdom according to the set schedule and plan.

President Wang Maolin and Mr. Frederick.C. Dubee, Advisor of our institute & Senior Advisor of Global Compact Executive Office of the Secretary-General of the United Nations acted as advisors of the delegation, and Executive Vice President Zhang Xiaoyu acted as the head. This business review visit lasted for 10 days in Europe. The delegates respectively attended the ‘1^st China-Europe Business Industrial Convention’ and ‘Hague China-Europe Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum 2006’, and conducted profound communications with such institutes and enterprises as UNEP, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Paris, Chinese and European Entrepreneurs Group, the Genesis Initiative, Amsterdam Foreign Investment Agency, Amsterdam Association of Chinese Entrepreneurs, and Lafarge Group, etc, which is the world’s largest cement enterprise, and reached further specific cooperation intents on relevant issues. The member companies of the delegation also got cooperation partners in Europe on the Business Industrial Convention. President Wang Maolin and Executive Vice President Zhang Xiaoyu specially visited Mr. Kiyo Akasaka, Vice Secretary-General of the Organization for Economic and Co-operation Development. President Wang Maolin, on behalf of the Organizing Committee of the World Economic Development Declaration and China International Institute of Multinational Corporations, extended thanks to OECD for supporting the ‘1^st World Economic Development Declaration Conference’. Mr. Kiyo Akasaka said that he himself and OECD both paid great attention to the implementation and conduction of the World Economic Development Declaration, and they would continue to give support to it.

This is a fruitful business review visit. The activity not only promoted the communication and cooperation between the member companies of our institute and foreign enterprises, but also gave publicity to the investment environment and policies of China to relevant foreign governmental institutions and enterprises just like an ‘information spreader’, which brought about great effects on the promotion of investment. The Membership Department of our institute will continue to organize such business activities in the future.
