President Wang Maolin Attended the Unveiling Ceremony of
the Internationally Acclaimed Master Artist
Huang Yongyu’s Painting “World Peace” which was Donated
to the United Nations upon Invitation
On the afternoon of 18th December, 2006, President Wang Maolin, at the invitation of Mr. Khalid Malik, United Nations Resident Coordinator in China, attended the unveiling ceremony of the internationally acclaimed master artist Huang Yongyu's massive painting "World Peace" which was donated to the United Nations at the United Nations Compound in Beijing.
The extraordinary painting is a call to commit to the ideals of peace and development, and the message of the painting represents the very principles of what the UN was founded upon.
With the size of approximately 2x3 meters, the painting shows cranes swooping over lotus flowers. "World Peace" will be another valuable addition to the art collection of the UN.
