Vice Mayor of Vienna and His Delegation Visited Our Institute
On the afternoon of November 30th, 2006, accompanied by Dr. Hans Dietmar Schweisgut, Austrian Ambassador to China, the delegation led by Dr. Sepp Rieder, Vice Mayor of Vienna, paid a visit to our institute. Mr. Zhang Xiaoyu, Executive Vice President and Secretary General and Vice President Shen Guofang cordially met with members of the delegation.
The meeting was held in a friendly and warm atmosphere. Vice President Zhang Xiaoyu firstly introduced the tenets, functions of CIIMC, the selection and promotion activity of ‘Top 50 Foreign Cities to Be Invested by Chinese Enterprises’ currently being held, as well as the ‘Round-Table Meeting of Chinese and Foreign Mayors, Bank Presidents and CEOs’ which is under preparation. Mr. Sepp Rieder, Vice Mayor of Vienna, was quite interested in the above mentioned activities, and expressed intent to attend the Round-Table Meeting to be held in Beijing in April, 2007.
Mr. Sepp Rieder gave an introduction to the basic situation of ‘China Austria Technology Park’ (CATP) which is jointly planned by Vienna Municipal Government and Ministry of Commerce and Ministry of Science and Technology of China, and he hoped CATP could develop vigorously via the exchanges and communications between our institute and Chinese ministries and commissions, economic and trade institutes as well as Chinese enterprises. Vice President Zhang Xiaoyu told the Vice Mayor the situation of the visit to 5 European countries of the business review delegation in early December organized by our institute. Mr. Sepp Rieder welcomed our institute to organize delegations to visit Vienna and inspect the investment environment there in the future.
During the meeting, Vice President Shen Guofang pointed out that the both sides should take measures from two aspects------concrete and principal aspects-----to explore cooperation channels and carry out actual communications, so as to provide Chinese and Austrian entrepreneurs and investors with more opportunities and promote the common economic development.
The two sides expressed the wish that they would enhance mutual visits and exchanges in the future, and establish long-effective cooperative mechanism.
Other members of the delegation were: Ms. Brigitte Jank, President of Vienna Chamber of Commerce & Industry; Ms. Sigrid Oblak, Head of Dr. Rieder Office; Mr. Bernd Riesslamd, Executive General Manager of Vienna Business Promotion Fund; Mr. Martin Pahr, Head of Legal Department of Vienna Business Agency; Mr. Johannes Neumann, Director of Vienna Representative Office in China.
Ms. Hou Yanfang, Director-General of International Cooperation Department and Mr. Wang Yin, Deputy Director-General of International Cooperation Department attended the meeting.
