CIIMC Successfully Supported the 14th World Productivity Congress,
and Executive Vice President Zhang Xiaoyu Made a Theme Speech at the Congress
The 14th World Productivity Congress, sponsored by World Confederation of Productivity Science, undertaken by Chinese Association of Productivity Science and Shenyang Municipal Government and supported by China International Institute of Multinational Corporations (CIIMC), was successfully held in Shenyang from October 8th to 11th, 2006. The theme of the Congress was ‘Pursuing Scientific and Sustainable Growth in Productivity and Performance’.
Mr. Zeng Peiyan, Vice Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, was the Honorary Chairman of the Congress, and he delivered a keynote speech. More than 1,000 representatives from over 50 countries including governmental officials, diplomatic envoys, and leaders from foreign chambers of commerce and Chinese and foreign enterprises attended the pageant.
As a supporting unit of this Congress, our institute invited leaders from United Nations Development Programme, United Nations Environment Programme, Global Compact Executive Office of the United Nations, European Union Delegation of the European Commission to China, diplomatic envoys in China, and leaders from foreign chambers of commerce in China, as well as principals from multinational corporations to attend the Congress. The Congress specially set four forums, namely, ‘Economic Globalization and Development of Productivity’, ‘Science & Technology Innovation and Sustainable Development’, ‘Enterprise Innovation and Development’, and ‘Chinese Reform, Open-up and Regional Economic Development’.
Mr. Zhang Xiaoyu, Executive Vice President and Secretary-General of CIIMC, made a theme speech upon invitation entitled ‘Regional Economy is the Promoter of Social Advancement and Development’, which gained warm welcome from the delegates present.
