Vice Chairman Cheng Siwei Met With Mr. Harold McGraw Ⅲ,
Chairman of McGraw-Hill Companies
On
May 19th, 2004, Mr. Cheng Siwei, Vice Chairman of the
Standing Committee of NPC and Honorary President of CIIMC, met
with Mr. Harold McGrawIII, Chairman of McGraw-Hill Companies and
his delegation in Anhui Hall of the Great Hall of the People.
McGraw Hill Companies is one of the Fortune 500 Companies of the
world, and it is a world leading institute providing
educational, information and financial services. Standard &
Poor’s, McGraw-Hill Education, Business Week, Platts Energy &
Resources Information, and McGraw-Hill Construction which are
under McGraw-Hill Companies are all world-famous brands. The aim
of his visit to China this time was to show his confidence in
the Chinese government and Chinese market. He announced on
yesterday’s press conference that he would elevate the level of
business branches of McGraw-Hill Companies in China as from that
day, and its subsidiary companies would also march into the
Chinese market in an all-round way. Mr. Harold McGrawIII hoped
to enhance cooperation with relevant industries of China and
CIIMC in the areas of financial capital, information service,
credit construction of Chinese and foreign enterprises and
education publishing, etc. Vice Chairman Cheng Siwei introduced
to the guests the reform of China’s state-owned commercial
banks, development status of the capital market, and policies of
the Chinese government on the credit market including rating
institutions and the development trend. He expressed his welcome
to McGraw-Hill Companies to explore business in China and make
contributions to the economic development and cultural exchange
between China and the United States of America.
Mr. Harold McGrawIII extended thanks to Vice Chairman Cheng Siwei for receiving him and giving him pertinent suggestions, and he also introduced to Vice Chairman Cheng the situation of the Roundtable Meeting in the U.S.. He sincerely invited Vice Chairman Cheng to visit McGraw-Hill Companies as a guest during his visit to the United States.
