When it was launched in January , 1993 , Global Times was known as Global Times Collection , a publication of People’s Daily Newspaper Group. During last 13 years , Global Times has aimed at reporting international events and gained its dominant place in the field of world news reporting in Chinese mainland

Global Times currently has more than 350 accredited journalists and guest correspondents in 80 countries and regions. The reporters gather first-hand information and send back on-the-spot reporting against time. The circulation of Global Times has reached more than 2 million. According to a pull among readers, each copy goes to five people, so that Global Times has at least 10 million readers . Research done by CMMS shows that there is a big proportion of our readers who are highly educated with comparably rich revenues. These target readers make the value of advertisement preferably actualized.

Global times spread over 292 flights of 16 airlines with 100,000 presentation copies terminally, and more than 25 million readers get the paper on flight. In the year of 2004 and 2005, Global times had evaluated as “Top 1 popular papers among the readers” by China Airline.
