In November 2003, the Conference of the Establishment of the Credit Alliance of Chinese and Foreign Enterprises was held in the Great Hall of the People. The Credit Alliance of Chinese and Foreign Enterprises (hereinafter referred to as Alliance) is a main content of the World Economic Development Declaration Conference. It is a continuation of the ‘World Economic Development and Enterprise Credit’ Forum held by the ‘Declaration Conference’.

 

The Alliance is a united body jointly sponsored by the Chinese and foreign enterprises, trade organizations and the accreditation of Chinese and foreign credibility organs and experts, which have joined the Alliance on a voluntary basis.

 

Its aim is to abide by the international credit norm, and mobilize all the social strength to push forward the establishment of credibility of enterprises with the credit demonstration effect of the members.

 

The tasks of the Alliance are as follows

 

1   Disseminate credit culture, raise credit awareness, exchange credit information, develop credit resources and promote the buildup of enterprise credit.

 

2   Work out implementation measures for the research of enterprise credit system, provide reference policy for government and popularize them after their trial implementation among the Alliance members.

 

3   Implement and link up internationally with the ‘Enterprise Credit Identification System’ so as to make the enterprise credibility transparent and resolve the problem of China’s unfavorable credit environment step by step because of the deficiency of credit information.

 

4   Popularize ‘China Credit Enterprise’. More and more credit enterprise entities in China will be produced by the Alliance in accordance with the international standard and adopt multifarious means to enable the credit enterprises to take lead in linking up with international practice, so as to seek more business opportunities for Alliance members.

 

5   Provide enterprise credit management service, set up a membership credit database, popularize and safeguard credit brand and image of the member corporates.

 

6   Hold Alliance annual meeting, promote exchange and cooperation among member corporates, edit and publish the Alliance year book.

  

Vice-Chairman Cheng Siwei of NPC Standing Committee serves as Honorary Director-General of the Alliance; Shi Guangsheng, Vice-Chairman of NPC Financial & Economic Committee, serves the first term of office as Director-General of the Council of the Credit Alliance of Chinese and Foreign Enterprises. Its current Director-General is Gan Guoping, Former Deputy Director, State Administration for Industry & Commerce and Vice President of China International Institute of Multinational Corporations.
