Letter of Participating in the Selection and Promotion Activity of ‘The Best Cities/Development Zones to Be Invested by Multinational Corporations’
China International Institute of Multinational Corporations (being renamed as China International Institute for the Promotion of Multinational Corporations), is directly supervised by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China and is a national consortium specially engaged in the business of multinational corporations. It is well-known in the world for organizing and issuing the World Economic Development Declaration.
In order to give extensive publicity of the cities and development zones with excellent investment environments and abundant resources to the international society, to elevate the international images and positions of the cities/ development zones, to provide favorable choices for multinational corporations and to promote economic development of cities and development zones, CIIMC carried out the selection and promotions activity of ‘Top 100 Cities/Development Zones to be Invested by Multinational Corporations during the 11th Five-Year Plan Period’, including:
‘The Best Cities to Be Invested by Multinational Corporations during the 11th Five-Year Plan Period’;
‘The Best Development Zones to Be Invested by Multinational Corporations during the 11th Five-Year Plan Period’;
‘The Best Energy Resource Cities to Be Invested by Multinational Corporations during the 11th Five-Year Plan Period’;
‘The Best Tourist Cities to Be Invested by Multinational Corporations during the 11th Five-Year Plan Period’;
‘The Best Agricultural Cities to Be Invested by Multinational
Corporations during the 11th Five-Year Plan Period’;
‘The Best Packing Industry Cities to Be Invested by Multinational
Corporations during the 11th Five-Year Plan Period’;
‘The Best Packing Industry Development Zones to Be Invested by Multinational Corporations during the 11th Five-Year Plan Period’.
After the review group of the activity analyzed the relevant data of numerous cities and development zones in China, 300 cities and development zones including your esteemed city/ development zone were chosen as final candidates. In order to carry out the selection and promotion activity well, we will also send the materials provided by you to Chambers of Commerce of each country in China, and famous multinational corporations to consult their opinions. Finally, we will select:

‘Top 20 Development Zones to Be Invested by Multinational Corporations during the 11th Five-Year Plan Period’;
‘Top 20 Energy Resource Cities to Be Invested by Multinational Corporations during the 11th
Five-Year Plan Period’;
‘Top 20 Tourist Cities to Be Invested by Multinational Corporations during the 11th Five-Year Plan Period’;
‘Top 20 Agricultural Cities to Be Invested by Multinational Corporations
during the 11th Five-Year Plan Period’;
‘Top 20 Packing Industry Cities to Be Invested by Multinational
Corporations during the 11th Five-Year Plan Period’;
‘Top 20 Packing Industry Development Zones to Be Invested by Multinational Corporations during the 11th Five-Year Plan Period’.
After the activity, a grand awarding ceremony will be held in the Great Hall of the People, and CEO Round-Table Meeting of Chinese and Foreign Mayors will also be held in Beijing. At that time, famous media at home and abroad will be invited to give large-scale report. Moreover, a series of follow-up promotion and demonstration activities will also be carried out.
The activity also aims at implementing the directive of Secretary General Mr. Hu Jintao: unswervingly continue to carry out the basic national policy of opening up to the outside world, under the overall trend of globalization of world economy, further elevate the quantity, quality, and level of bringing in and utilizing foreign investment by China, and improve China’s industrial structure and technological level of enterprises while introducing in foreign investment.

1. According to your own advantages, please select participating options (at most 2 options), and fill in the Confirmation Receipt of the Selection and Promotion Activity of ‘The Best City/Development Zone to Be Invested by Multinational Corporation.
2. Please provide the latest publicity materials and a 10 minutes image promotion video CD of your esteemed city/development zone (both in Chinese and English).
3. Please summarize your esteemed city/development zone’s most attractive advantage that attracts multinational corporations to invest. Materials provided by you will be strictly confidential.
Sign up fee for the activity is 8000 RMB (including material fee, service fee, and communication fee). Please remit the fee to the following account before December 31th, 2006.
